Apple Watch Release In Chronological Order

Apple Watch, an Apple product, is a striking representative of a new class of wearable devices.

It is a line of wrist watches with extended functionality, which is provided by integrated electronics, in fact – a mini computer on the wrist.

In addition to the direct function – time display, it provides additional functionality: tight integration with a smartphone (making a call, displaying notifications, working with SMS, email client), fitness tracker (measuring heart rate, calculating distance traveled, calculating calories burned), playing music and others

Apple Watch runs the watchOS operating system and requires a wireless connection to an Apple smartphone, at least iPhone 5, to fully function and perform many functions.

At the same time, the phone must be running a version of the operating system not lower than iOS 11. This fact should be taken into account before looking at this smart watch as a purchase.

It should be noted that the Apple Watch may provide limited functionality away from the smartphone when connected via its built-in Wi-Fi adapter.

And watches of the Apple Watch Series 3 and above, equipped with the LTE module, can do without a permanent connection to the phone, but they cannot do without it for the initial setup. Therefore, you still need to have an iPhone smartphone.

Regardless of the generation of smartwatches, Apple Watch is divided into three types, each of which is determined: design, materials used, target audience. Let’s take a closer look at each of their types of smart watches:

1) Apple Watch Sport – This is the least expensive kind of Apple watch. The watch case is made of anodized aluminum. The display is made of highly durable aerospace-grade aluminosilicate glass that is scratch and chip resistant.

2) Apple Watch – the basic watch model, the case of which is made using a special technology, of high quality stainless steel. The display of the device is covered with a durable sapphire crystal.

3) Apple Watch Edition is a premium product, the most expensive type of smartwatch. The body of the product is made according to a rather complicated technology using precious metals: gold, silver, palladium, copper. The display is covered with a high-strength sapphire crystal.

Apple Watch release

On September 9, 2014, during an event at the Flint Performing Arts Center in Cupertino, California, USA, the new product was presented by Apple CEO Tim Cook. It was presented under the slogan “the next chapter in Apple’s story”.

The presentation of the gadget began with a video, which focused on the design of the new device and various variations of smart watches that will be available to consumers.

Upon completion of the video presentation, the audience was filled with prolonged applause and applause. Some time later, Tim Cook appeared on the scene with an Apple Watch on his wrist.

He explained that the Apple Watch was “a precise time zone, a new intimate way of communicating from your wrist and a comprehensive health and fitness device.”

Initially, marketing campaigns focused more on positioning the Apple Watch as a trendy and stylish device.

But over time, Apple has redefined the role of smartwatches and focused on health and fitness-related features, competing with specialized fitness trackers.

Despite the already existing line of products such as iPod, iPhone and iPad, the new device has been deprived of the “i” prefix in the name.

The thing is that in the USA the iWatch brand is already registered and belongs to OMG Electronics, which has already developed a similar device called iWatch. In Europe, this brand belongs to the Irish firm Probendi.

Not without the scandal associated with the name of the “smart watch”, which was identified with the results of search results in the Google search engine.

The thing is that for user queries “iWatch”, search results were returned in one way or another related to the gadget of the Apple Watch corporation.

In July 2015, Probendi filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Apple, claiming that the trademark manipulation in search engines was due to an unfair advertising campaign and the use of keywords in the Google search engine.
